Performance Appraisal is:-

  • Evaluation of staff’s performance in relation to present and future jobs in a systematic and objective manner. This evaluation is normally done periodically like quarterly, half yearly, yearly

  • The staff are ranked and appreciated in terms of such factors like knowledge, team-work, skills, physical and mental abilities, quantity and quality of work, interpersonal relationship, compatibility, sense of responsibility, work attitude.

  • Involves assessment of the potential of an employee for development and his response to the job demands.
